This is a Puritan paper back originally published under the title "The

Excellency of the Gospel above the Law." Volume 4 of The Works of

Richard Sibbes contains a fuller version of this book. Sibbes had been

dead four years when the book first appeared in 1639. That it has been

reproduced in a single volume in 2000 attests to the value of Sibbes' work.

The seven chapters cover: The context of 2 Corinthians 3:17_18; The Spirit

of Christ; Liberty; The Gospel is beyond the Law, Our Communion and

Fellowship with God in Christ; Our Conformity to the Image of Christ, and

the conclusion. A brief analysis is provided at the close of he book . The

book is easy to read but a minimum of editing of the original text was done.
