He Shines in All That's Fair: Culture and Common Grace

by Richard J. Mouw

Dr. Richard Mouw, president of Fuller Theological Seminary, presented this

material originally in the Stob Lecture series at Calvin College and

Seminary. Revised for publication, this volume includes an additional

chapter on "infralapsarian and "supralapsarian." Dealing as he does with

theological concepts, Dr. Mouw puts his message in language which is clear

and interesting. The preface sets a friendly tone to the book although it

deals with profound concepts.

In these lectures Dr. Mouw looks at the arguments between those who accept

common grace and those who insist upon the antithesis between the church and

the world. These differences present problems. Written in short lectures,

the reader is assisted in thinking through the issues presented. Some of the

ideas being circulated in the light of the recent tragic events in this

country, with Dr. Mouw's clarity and insight, make this book one which we

should all read. The messages are scholarly, clear, warm, and timely
